From the opening scene where Alan Cumming's gymnastic mutant Nightcrawler scurries along the corridors of The White House, you know director Bryan Singer's sequel is going to deliver the Marvel Comics goods. Despite their ongoing differences of opinion, old rivals Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) have to forget their differences to face up to Brian Cox's fascist military leader who wants the mutants wiped from the face of the Earth. Superior superhero stuff.
