Academy Award winner Clint Eastwood stars as a not-very-smart Phoenix cop assigned to a mission that his boss does not expect him to survive.The job seems simple: escort a witness from Las Vegas to Phoenix to testify at a mob trial. But his charge, beautiful, college-educated prostitute Gus Mally (Sondra Locke), cannot convince officer Ben Shockley (Eastwood) that the police intend to kill them both--until the bullets start to fly. Now the only way for the pair to survive both the cops and the mob is for Ben to deliver Gus alive to the trial in Phoenix.
