Following the fairytale success of Snow White, Disney's second feature brings to life another children's classic: Carlo Collodi's story of a wooden puppet who dreams of being "a real boy". Fashioned by lonely carpenter Geppetto, Pinocchio is given his chance to become human by a fairy who tells him he must remain truthful and unselfish, which means listening to his conscience - embodied by a fellow called Jiminy Cricket. But if their many adventures prove anything, it's that boys will be boys - real or otherwise. No word of a lie, family movies don't come more enchanting than this. It was also music to the Academy Awards... the score and song When You Wish Upon A Star both landed an Oscar.
